Goodbye 2016 – Hello 2017

Once again the last day of the year has arrived and that means only one thing… it’s time to reflect on the year that was. Now if you just read the headlines 2016 was officially the Year of Hate. But if, like me, you don’t believe the date on the newspapers 2016 was definitely a mixed bag. I’m not going to dwell on the negatives. Instead I am going for the positives…
Ed and I survived our 30th wedding anniversary trip to Hawaii and Tahiti where I swam with the sharks. I managed to get through kitchen classes without setting fire to anything… I think the kidlets may have been a little disappointed.
The words flowed as fast as the Murray but my fondest and most challenging highlight was the Tech Girls Project culminating in winning the Mildura Innovation Award. It was a proud moment for me and showed the girls that hard work and persistence pays off.
Goodbye to 2016 and hello to 2017 which I will look towards with optimism and apparently, with all the camera gear I received for Christmas, a likely career change that will include international espionage and maybe just maybe I will get the supermarkets to change their express lane signage from ‘8 items or less’ to ‘8 items or fewer.’
